An individual, off-matrix, cubic crystal of pale purple Fluorite showing all the classic traits of the famous Elmwood mine, in Tennessee, USA from where it came. At 6 x 6 cm on its front face and extending a slightly shorter distance backwards, from where it was extracted from its host matrix, this is a good size crystal for this important American occurrence. Front on, it presents the iconic darker purple thin outer rim, with paler purple translucent interior, combined with gently crenulated to finely stepped surfaces. Its main display face is in very good condition, with no major chipping but with some internal cleavage planes showing. Its sides vary in length from where it was extracted, with several patches of brown Sphalerite evident on the back. A fine classic Elmwood mine Fluorite. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection.
