Tucson, Arizona, USAFamous to the point of being legendary, 'Blanchard blue' is a term commonly used for the exceptional cornflower blue Fluorite which has been found at Blanchard mine in the Hansonburg District, Socorro County, New Mexico, USA. Hosted by the typical siliceous limestone this small cabinet display specimen from Portales adit, at Blanchard mine features a very rich coverage of intensely blue, translucent, cubic crystals upon a white to cream coloured finely crystallized Quartz-lined cavity. Individually, the Fluorite crystals reach up to 9 mm on edge. Most are much smaller, and there is some noticeable damage to the groups of smaller Fluorite crystals, but the larger crystals are in good shape and the standout feature here is the colour, which is exceptional, making for a striking display of good size. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection.
