A beautiful REPAIR AND RESTORATION FREE (!) group of sharp rhodochrosite rhombs from the final pocket ever to be recovered at the DCP/Sweet Home Mine, Baker’s Pocket. This is a fantastic cabinet sized specimen with numerous sharp crystals, great color, and aesthetics. This specimen exhibits a unique secondary coating of micro-quartz, clay, etc. which formed last in the high temperature environment of the pocket, thus leaving a “snow-capped” look from one direction, highlighting which way this specimen grew in the pocket. It cannot be removed, but offers nice contrast and tells an interesting geologic story!
