Pentagonite is the much more rare dimorph of cavansite, which means it has the same chemistry but a different crystal habit (oddly, as it sounds). Pieces like this are rarely seen, and this is, for the size, balanced in a way most are not. It is robust enough to handle. It is also complete all around with truly spectacular sprays of razor-sharp blades that have a gorgeous deep blue color. The photo says it all, and it is even BETTER in person. This is as fine a pentagonite thumbnail as you will find in size class and we sold it to Alex from an old discovery around 2008. It GLOWS WITH ELECTRIC neon-blue color. (NOTE: CANNOT BE MAILED... well, maybe it can, but I'd prefer not to risk it). Illustrated: The Mineralogical Record, Arizona Mineral Collections, 2020; 51(1): 156. Recently featured in the book, Refined Elegance (Mineralogical Record, Nov. 2022) on page 109. Laszlo Kupi photo.
