Glittering sharp right-angle corner that is covered by a white, sugary-textured Quartz druse. The original Quartz coating has become a cast of the previously existing tabular Anhydrite that has since dissolved away leaving a beautiful epimorph specimen. This highly intriguing pseudomorph measures 3.8 cm by 3.4 cm on the edges and is 1.4 cm thick. The piece is in near pristine condition with only the cast’s basal attachment incomplete. This certainly doesn't detract from the abrupt geometric form and lovely aesthetics of the specimen. There are several 1 to 2 mm sized Quartz crystals clustered together at the base that further enhance the display. While the detailed location is not specified for the specimen, it is probably from the O.S. Pocket, which is known for a small pocket find in the 1990s of world-class Quartz casts after Anhydrite (originally thought to be after Baryte; and many of them still turn up on the market labelled as a replacement of Baryte). A great double-sided miniature with crisp clean lines and a scintillating sparkle, superb for this material! Ex. William (Bill) Larson Quartz Collection. This collection was built since the 1980s and on exhibit for decades in his jewelry and mineral store in Fallbrook, California.
