For whatever reason, thumbnail specimens from this famous USA locality are hard to come by! This is a literal jewel! Lovely single gem Amethyst crystal with a radiant purple color from the famous Jackson Crossroads Mine in Georgia. Home to some of the best world class Amethyst specimens ever produced. This fine stubby transparent crystal measuring 3.6 cm, has a superb luster with an exquisite color! The Amethyst crystal has slightly larger stepped prismatic faces leading to a perfect razor-sharp termination. As an added bonus it also has a pair of arrow shaped phantoms with a darker more concentrated purple color that can be viewed through the main and side faces. The crystal is in excellent condition with only minor chipping, but it is base is incomplete where it was detached. The termination faces have very subtle, minuscule hillock-style growth patterns that while they are only seen up close with reflected light, they are still cool and unusual features. There is also a small spray noted of millimeter-sized contrasting clear Quartz crystals on one side that all terminate in the opposite direction. An enchanting Amethyst specimen having next level luster and color with dazzling phantoms that displays like a gorgeous purple jewel. Ex. William (Bill) Larson Quartz Collection. This collection was built since the 1980s and on exhibit for decades in his jewelry and mineral store in Fallbrook, California.
