Tucson, Arizona, USAFrom a relatively new discovery in the far south of Peru, at Rumipata in Ichuña District, General Sánchez Cerro Province comes this really unusual heavenly blue Quartz var. Chalcedony, pseudomorphing finger-like crystals of Anhydrite. This small cabinet specimen is entirely Chalcedony, forming a bed of short 'stalactite'-like fingers. The largest reaches 1.8 cm in length freestanding, but longer where it extends into the base. All trace of Anhydrite is gone, apart from the colour which it has imparted on the Chalcedony. An interesting and unusually colourful pseudomorph.
