This is a really rather imposing Baryte from the famous Meikle mine in Elko County, Nevada, USA. Cabinet-sized, it features extremely glassy, golden coloured tabular to bladed crystals with superb transparency for Baryte. These crystals are large, reaching over 4.5 cm across, in excellent condition and display wonderful bevelled edges. Internally, they display flashes of light reflecting off cleavage surfaces. This adds significant character to this piece which presents exceptionally well. Off-matrix, the crystals are aggregated together, interlocked, but most standing uninterrupted to show off their magnificent form. The only notable damage is around the periphery and underneath where the crystal aggregate was removed from matrix. A extremely fine Meikle mine Baryte.
