Epidote with Axinite-(Mn) and Quartz

Like green quills from a Porcupine, or a pistachio-green Hedgehog, this super cabinet-sized Epidote crystal spray is a spectacular display of how Epidote doesn't always have to be dark green prisms. In superb condition, the needle-like crystals radiate outwards in a dramatic and aesthetic fashion, complimented by small bladed crystals of clove-brown Axinite-(Mn) and with a little white 'needle' Quartz at its base. At over 5 cm in length, the Epidote crystals are an impressive size for this delicate, yet beautiful form. From a 2024 find at this remote mountainous location which formerly produced good Axinite-(Mn) in 2015, but these new Epidotes are on a whole new level.
