Most mineral collectors have heard of Jeffrey mine, the reason being the truly exceptional Grossular and Vesuvianite crystals that were once found there. Even so, I think most collectors would be staggered by the sheer size and overall quality of this dome-like crystallized Grossular. Upon it, magnificent, classic, orange-coloured glassy Grossular crystals to 1 cm across completely coat the display surfaces, and present the iconic 'stepped' crystal faces for which Jeffrey is so renowned. Looking in detail at its crystals is in some ways like looking at modern art, with sharp lines and angles. Now closed for nearly two decades, the supply of fine specimens from Jeffrey mine is limited to the recycling of older collections with the better specimens rapidly snapped up. This remarkable cabinet-sized display specimen is covered in perfectly undamaged crystals, and large ones at that. It comes with a custom-made acryllic display stand.
