This beautiful thin plate of matrix-hosted Smoky Quartz crystals comes from the 3,300 m high Gletschhorn mountain in Uri canton, Switzerland. Showing the classic rich brown colour and fine transparency of the very best alpine Smoky Quartz, this fine specimen benefits from no damage except for at the very base of one of the larger crystals at the edge of the specimen and out of sight. The crystals rise up in many different directions with the two largest pointing more or less directly upwards, the largest reaching 3.3 cm in length. This is a really excellent quality Swiss Smoky Quartz and of a very good size for display.
