A fine, well-formed 'individual' twinned Fluorite crystal from the recent finds at Milpo mine in the Atacocha mining district in the remote Andes mountains in Pasco province, Peru. Showing the, by now classic, cubo-octahedral crystal shape seen not only at Milpo mine, but in most other Fluorite crystals from Peru, this crystal, or crystals - as it consists of two twinned cubo-octahedral crystals - has really great overall shape and reaches 3 cm across. This excellent form is enhanced by distinctive colour-zoning, with one side of both twinned crystals showing a white 'frosted' outer layer with a typical translucent to transparent green core and other side. The base of the twinned crystal/s is covered with bright golden metallic Pyrite crystals where it was previously attached to matrix. The association with Pyrite and the rich green colour of the Fluorite make a combination unique to Milpo mine and is what will make these specimens classics in years to come. There is minor abrasion to one or two of the Fluorite crystal edges, but this is not overly apparent as it is its excellent shape that catches ones eye the most.
