Worldclass in size and crystal shape, this individual colourless transparent Nifontovite crystal is from a very small recent (November 2025) find at Charcas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. At 9.5 cm in length it is a major step up in the quality of this very rare calcium borate hydroxide hydrate. Rising like a glass skyscrapper it tapers gently towards its termination with many tiny parallel crystal faces stepping upwards to its tip. Under magnification slight chipping can be seen along its edges but its overall shape is superb, showing its monoclinic structure extremely well.
