This individual wire of Native Silver from Endeavor mine (Elura mine) is full of great character, like a snake twisting as it slides along the desert sands. 5.2 cm long, this specimen features additional growths of Native Silver dendrites shooting off from the sides of the main wire towards its top end. Discovered in the 1970s, the polymetallic massive sulphide deposit at Endeavor mine, Cobar, Robinson County, New South Wales, Australia commenced mining in 1983 under the name of Elura mine. Rebranding during the early 21st century gave it the Endeavor title. Despite being a multimillion ton operation only a few notable mineral discoveries have been reported, including some of the world's finest Mimetite crystals and extremely fine elongated spinel-twinned Native Silver crystals.
