A beautiful, large Cornish classic Tetrahedrite specimen from the famous Herodsfoot mine. A bed of white Quartz veinstone is liberally covered with large tetrahedral Tetrahedrite crystals, some reaching an impressive 14 mm across, with small dull grey Galena crystals in association. The crystals display the wonderful brassy iridescent surface patina so prized from this mine. Although there is no original label to prove it, these superbly crystallized specimens of Tetrahedrite all came out from Herodsfoot mine during the period from 1850 to 1875 and most passed through the hands of the famous Cornish mineral dealer Richard Talling. An extremely fine display specimen and accompanied by old collection labels from Austria and Germany.
