The DR Congo is a country rich in natural resources and in particular copper. This very rich velvety display specimen of botryoidal Malachite comes from the Kakanda deposit in Kambove District. Almost solid Malachite in a thick layer of compact, almost organic-like growths of radiating acicular crystals displays a chatoyant darker green outer undulating surface. There is light bruising to this outer surface in a couple of small areas, but overall it looks very nice on display.
