A fine and beautiful cabinet specimen of classic George and Charlotte mine Childrenite. This mine very much produced the pinnacle of British Childrenite. Bright lustrous gemmy/translucent Childrenite crystals are mostly concentrated over the display face of the specimen, coloured light tan to rich clove brown. The Childrenite crystals average approximately 2 mm, with two intergrown exceptional crystals measuring to 4 mm. Dark green to grey-green chloritized-slate together with white Quartz forms the matrix. A great specimen from this early 19th century mine, accompanied with a handwritten collector's label and a Roughgems (London) stock label. Two further number labels are affixed to the specimen, one with the appearance of being extremely old.
