Presenting the distinctive cubo-octahedral crystal form of Fluorite and greenish colour for which the new discoveries at Milpo mine in the remote Atacocha mining district of Pasco province, Peru are now renowned, this great small cabinet provides a twist. Seemingly an off-matrix plate, or bed of Fluorite crystals, it is in fact a cast of sorts, with a concave rear, but with many small silvery bladed crystals of Arsenopyrite scattered within the cast and with smaller grey-white Fluorite crystals dotted around as an apparent later development. The main display of Fluorite crystals is really nicely formed and in great condition, but the colour is a paler, somewhat bluish-green, than many of the Fluorites from Milpo mine, but with great transparency/translucency. From experience, this shift in colour appears to be related to its association with Arsenopyrite, rather than the more common Pyrite.
