This museum quality, larger display plate of alpine Smoky Quartz comes from from the 3,300 m high Gletschhorn mountain in Uri canton, Switzerland. Dominated by a 4.2 cm tall, gemmy, transparent, rich smoky brown coloured prismatic Quartz crystal of the highest level of perfection, the plate is also liberally covered in smaller, but equally perfect individual crystals, none of which show any sign of damage. The crystals rise up in many different directions from a granitic matrix, making for an absolutely superb presentation of this Swiss classic.
