This is a rarely seen example of finely crystallized sugary Quartz replacement (pseudomorphs) after Calcite crystals from the little-known Corona group in the Cababi Mining District, Comobabi Mountains, Pima County, Arizona, USA. This small cabinet-sized piece reveals the typical internal banding, or layering, showing how the replacement progressed in stages. An orange-brown coating across some of the outer surface adds character to this unusual specimen. Ex Paul Matt.
