This is an extremely fine Scorodite from Crystal Classics' operations at Hemerdon mine back in 2006. Richly crystallized, the crystals are not only extremely well formed, they are supremely glossy and have an extremely vibrant colour which varies from vivid smalt blue to grey-blue or teal blue dependant on the light source. The rich coverage of bright Scorodite crystals on this specimen is on vein Quartz. Cavities in the white Quartz matrix are coated with orange and brown Iron Oxides, and white Kaolinite. The Scorodite crystals measure up to 2.5 mm in size and cover an area approximately 2.8 x 3.5 cm in extent. The vast majority of crystals are well formed with great terminations. A world-class Scorodite from a site which is now gone.
