Tucson, Arizona, USAFrom a recent discovery at Milpo mine in the remote Atacocha mining district in Peru, this charming green Fluorite crystal presents a fantastic overall form of a truncated octahedron. The colour is enchanting, similar in many ways to the South African deposit at Riemvasmaak, but with a subtly different shade of green and translucency. Measuring 5.4 cm across at its widest, this crystal is a really good size for viewing. It represents the top half of a cleaved crystal, but the four pyramidal sides and truncated termination are in perfect condition and with strong backlighting the whole specimen glows vividly. Minor Sphalerite and sulphosalt inclusions are seen around the base of the crystal. A really fine miniature from this new find.
