Malachite from Namibia, Oshikoto Region, Tsumeb
Malachite ps. Azurite (partial)
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia
5.2 x 4.2 x 2.2 cm
ex. Paul Seel, Sam Gordon
A striking parallel growth group of Azurite crystals mostly pseudomorphed by Malachite, the original blocky azurite forms preserved in sharp, blade-like detail under a brilliant emerald-green coat of fibrous malachite. The crystal faces are densely covered in malachite that catch light beautifully from every angle. Toward the base, gemmy unaltered Azurite remains exposed in deep blue lustrous patches, providing striking color contrast against the green pseudomorphs and confirming the original identity of the crystals. A classic Tsumeb pseudomorph of old-style aesthetic, with sharp crystal definition and excellent overall condition
