A heck of an old time and rarely seen English locality specimen that is also aesthetic! Light green stepped cuboctohedral fluorites with purple cores sit on sharply crystallized snow white dolomite. The whole specimen is adorned with sharp metallic brassy chalcopyrite crystals. The back side of the specimen showcases large cleaved octahedral crystals of green fluorite. The South Caradon Mine was a copper mining operation in Cornwall that was active from 1833 through 1886. There are only 4 photos of macro fluorite crystal examples from here on Mindat and I can count on one hand the number of good specimens I have ever seen. A truly classic English fluorite specimen. Comes with a custom cut acrylic base. Ex. Mel Bersch, Mitch Abel 1975
