Colourwise, this is certainly not your typical Coronel Murta tourmaline, but this gorgeous green individual Elbaite crystal from the famous modern pegmatite mines in Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil is a stunner. Reaching 6.5 cm in length and with a substantial width of 1.7 cm, this intensely vibrant tri-colour gemmy crystal is sure to draw attention. With a fractured base where it was detached from matrix, this crystal commences with a clove-brown internal colour, rich with inclusions and rimmed by bright lime-green above which its main body is a fairly uniform lime-green to acid-green colour with fine transparency but clouding upwards and eventually passing to a pale raspberry-pink rounded tip. Its termination is a complex series of many small sloping faces, some appearing slightly rounded, but these appear to be naturally slightly rounded rather than worn and this uppermost part is more translucent to slightly opaque. A cracking green Brazilian gem tourmaline crystal.
