This Coronel Murta Elbaite tourmaline, from Minas Gerais state in Brazil might be thumbnail in size, but it is actually a wonderfully complete 'floater' cluster of at least three complete, doubly-terminated crystals. Not only that, but these individual crystals are colour-zoned with pale greyish bodies and strawberry-red tips and are hemimorphic - with flat pinacoid terminations at one end, and three-sided pyramidal at the other. A sweet little Elbaite miniature, miniature.
