This is a beautiful, gem, pastel pink, slender prismatic, doubly terminated Elbaite Tourmaline crystal from the Himalaya Mine dating to 1945 according to its old label. This super attractive "pencil" Tourmaline measures two and one-half inches long and one-quarter inch wide displaying excellent luster and attractive striations parallel to its length. It is gemmy throughout from top to bottom and displays a complex, pyramidal termination on one end and a flat, pedion termination on the other. It is in excellent condition with only some slight chatter on one edge and some very minor amount of Kaolinite in a couple of areas. An excellent, old Himalaya Tourmaline. Rare style, rare antique example from this famous mine (among the earliest surviving Himalaya pencils we have had).
