A classic and truly beautiful, old-time Azurite rose from the Campbell Shaft at Bisbee. This striking and very beautiful piece is composed of rosettes of rare, blocky, bright royal-blue Azurite crystals to 1 cm with stunning "electric-blue" highlights under bright light. Bisbee is one of the most desirable mineral localities for Arizona collectors, and it has produced some of the finest Azurites in the world. This particular style called the "Bisbee Rose," was known since the turn of the 1900's. This beautiful piece is complete all-around, with only limited contacting on the very bottom of the piece, almost a floater! For an old classic, it is in fantastic shape. The bright blue color, rare crystal form and specimen shape make for an outstanding Bisbee Azurite rose probably collected in the 1930s finds here. Paul Seel travelled the USA in the 40s-50s searching for minerals and collections, to build his own.
