An unusual locality piece from a classic Mexican locale that has rarely produced good hematite crystals; this is a crystal of brilliantly lustrous, metallic Hematite to nearly one-inch in length that exhibits mirror bright faces and exceptionally fine crystal form - for this, or any, locality. It is actually two super sharp crystals in very tight parallel intergrowth that have broad faces on the front and back and crisp, beveled faces along the edges. There is a barely perceptible point of contact on the very bottom, so small I think we can still call this a "floater" in terms of being complete all around. Most Hematite from this locale is rather small and not this well formed. This is a robust, very mirror-like, thumbnail crystal of high caliber; in fact, a rare competitive quality hematite thumbnail with both location and style points.
