Attractive deep green lustrous and gemmy octahedral crystals of fluorite measuring to 4.5 cm in size aesthetic across the top of matrix. This is in super condition. The Ruyuan Mine, located in Ruyuan County within the Guangdong Province of China, is a prolific mineral locality widely celebrated for its high-quality specimens of fluorite and quartz. Geologically, the area sits within a complex hydrothermal mineral belt where fluorine-rich fluids circulated through faults and fractures in the local sedimentary and volcanic basement rocks during the Mesozoic Era. This process resulted in the formation of large cavities where fluorite crystallized in various habits, most notably as translucent to transparent cubes and octahedrons in striking shades of green, blue, and purple, often found on a matrix of white quartz or associated with sulfide minerals. Historically, the mine saw its most significant period of industrial activity for fluorspar extraction beginning in the late 20th century, particularly during the 1980s and 1990s. While industrial production has slowed, the mine remains a major source of interest for the international mineral market, as local miners continue to recover world-class specimens that are prized for their exceptional clarity and vibrant color zoning.
