A prismatic terminated lustrous crystal grouping of fluorapatite in great condition. Minor hematite and chalcopyrite present. This is exceptionally large and fine for the species from this long closed locality.The Pea Ridge Mine in Washington County, Missouri, is an iron mine located in the St. Francois Mountains and was developed in the 1950s to exploit a large magnetite rich deposit of Precambrian age. The mine became one of the major iron producers in the region before closing in 2001.
