Tucson, Arizona, USAThis very rich specimen of Maucherite comes from the Type Locality at Eisleben, Mansfeld Basin, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany and must date to very near to the time that the species was described (1913), as it is accompanied by a label from Albin Jahn (1886-1946). Described on Jahn's label as coarse (derb) with crystals of Nickeline, both species are hosted by what appears to be porous, cavity-rich Quartz, alongside a rib of white bladed Baryte. The Maucherite forms large areas of massive grey with the Nickeline crystals remaining a much fresher pinkish metallic colour on this very large miniature specimen. Ex Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) Collection, this is a rarely seen German classic.
