Despite its complex chemistry as a sodium manganese iron cerium zirconium silicate phosphate hydrate hydroxide, Steenstrupine-(Ce) is recorded at quite a number of localities along the southwest side of Greenland. This well-crystallized miniature specimen features two, 8 mm diameter somewhat tabular dark brown to black resinous Steenstrupine-(Ce) crystals sat alongside each other in a white syenite matrix. One of these is particularly fine, but the other has some noticeable damage to its crystal faces. Another fragmentary crystal is embedded in matrix further round the specimen. Recorded as from Kangerlussuaq Complex, Kangerlussuaq Firth, Tunu Province it should be noted that there are at least four places named Kangerlussuaq on Greenland but that Tunu Province is in the east side of the island. It is from the wonderful systematic collection assembled by brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) in Germany.
