Gorgeous deep green glassy and gemmy cubic crystals of fluorite measuring to 1.7 cm on edge across matrix. Some cleaving present typical of these, this still in good condition. The Xianghualing Mine, located in Linwu County within the Hunan Province of China, is a world-renowned mineral locality situated in a complex skarn and greisen-style ore deposit. Geologically, this site formed through the intrusion of late Yanshanian granite into Devonian limestone, creating a rich environment for hydrothermal mineralization. The mine is most famous for its extraordinary green fluorite, which often occurs as highly transparent, lustrous cubic crystals with a distinctive pale to vibrant mint-green hue. These crystals are frequently found in association with white or colorless calcite, as well as metallic minerals like galena and pyrite, providing a sharp aesthetic contrast. Historically, while the district has been an important producer of tin, tungsten, and beryllium for decades, the discovery of these aesthetic fluorite pockets has made Xianghualing a primary source for collectors worldwide. Today, the mine remains a prolific producer of these iconic green fluorites, which are celebrated for their clarity and the elegant perfection of their isometric crystal forms.
