Iconic Wölsendorf Fluorite Mining District in Bavaria, Germany, this well-balanced cabinet-sized crystallized Fluorite specimen lacks a little of the intense lime green colour seen in the very top specimens, but is nevertheless an excellent presentation of the distinctive repeatedly stepped Fluorite cubes. Added to this, many of the crystals are edged with brick-red Hematite inclusions and the occasional small Chalcopyrite crystals and one Calcite crystal are scattered upon the surface. With back lighting, the green colour is improved by its much richer internal green colour making for a lovely display piece. A few of the Fluorite crystals have chipped corners, but overall its presentation is good, and with the really classic style for which this mining district is so famous. Ex Hans Engelbrecht Collection, no. 1545.
