From the type locality.Tellurantimony is a rare metallic mineral that consists of a chemical combination of antimony and tellurium. Geologically, it is typically found in hydrothermal vein deposits, particularly those associated with gold and silver mineralization where tellurium-rich fluids were present. It was first described from the Mattagami Lake Mine in Quebec, Canada, but it has also been identified in other notable mining districts such as the Campbell Mine in Ontario and various localities in Russia and Australia. The mineral usually appears as steel-grey to lead-grey metallic grains or platy aggregates, often so closely associated with other tellurides like altaite or sylvanite that it requires microscopic examination or X-ray diffraction for positive identification.
