Iron METEORITE - polished Octahedrite Ni-Fe Meteorite$4,000.00

Wire transfers available, to set up
Gibeon is world-famous, not only to meteorite collectors but to much of the public too, on account of its magical criss-cross pattern, known as the Widmanstätten structure seen when these Ni-Fe meteorites are cut, polished and prepared with acid etching. Highly collectible, many of the larger masses have been sliced up smaller and smaller to make jewellery and other ornamental things, meaning that larger display specimens are becoming increasingly hard to source. At 632 g, and with a cut display face measuring 10.8 x 8.4 at its widest, this superb Gibeon meteorite is an absolute cracker and will look amazing on display or as a talking point. As typical with Gibeon Ni-Fe meteorites there is no obvious tarnish (rusting) to its polished surface. At 3.6 Billion years old this would certainly be the oldest specimen in your collection! Ex Hettrich Collection.
