A wonderful large thick lustrous complete crystal of metallic hematite. The crystal faces are mirror bright. There is very little micro-damage present. The specimen comes with a couple of previous labels as shown at the end of the video. Very choice example for the species.Louis Zara (1910-2001) was a versatile American author, novelist, and dedicated mineral enthusiast based in New York City. He is perhaps best known in the mineralogical community as the editor-in-chief of "Mineral Digest," a luxurious and short-lived publication from the late 1960s and early 1970s that was famous for its high-quality color photography and artistic presentation of specimens.
