Japan Law twins are among the most recognizable and coveted of quartz's habits. Nepal has produced some of the sharpest and cleanest twins in history, in recent years (since about 2017 to 2025), and we have been buying much of each summer's best production. This unique style is from a small pocket found in the summer mining season of 2024 and shows an unusual pattern and coating of second generation sparkly quartz grains, oriented on the surface of the twin. Classic and beautiful, this SHARPLY twinned quartz pair spans a full 5 cm, and it is aesthetically set on a matrix plate covered with a dense forest of glassy quartz points. The tabular twin is water-clear and is accented with sharp beveled edges. However, what makes this small-cabinet specimen nearly unique are the quartz phantoms. Most obvious are the outstanding preferential coatings that are on one face of each twin. Even more remarkable, if you look carefully, is that each twin has an INTERNAL phantom that follows the crystal and is mirrored by the preferential coating. The reverse faces of the quartz are perfectly clear and glassy. The elegance and simple-yet-complex growth makes this one of the most refined quartz specimens I have seen. We were fortunate to get these directly from the miners in 2023, and these are RARE. The pocket was pricey, but then the quality is so high and so unique.
