Fluorite
A cluster of mostly gemmy green and purple color zoned cubic fluorite crystals. In good condition with minimal cleaving on one corner present. Very pretty when backlit as shown at the end of the video. The Yindu Mine in Inner Mongolia, China, is part of a region known for polymetallic deposits that have been developed for the extraction of lead, zinc, and other base metals. Mining activity has taken place using underground methods to follow mineralized veins and replacement bodies within carbonate host rocks. In addition to its economic production, the mine has become well known among mineral collectors for its fluorite specimens. Fluorite from the Yindu Mine commonly occurs as well formed cubic crystals, often displaying attractive colors such as green, purple, or colorless, and may show zoning or transparency. These crystals are typically found in association with quartz, calcite, and sulfide minerals, forming in open cavities where conditions allowed for good crystal development. The combination of active mining and favorable geologic conditions has made the Yindu Mine an important locality for both industrial minerals and collectible fluorite specimens.
