Abundant parallel wedge-like terminated crystals of Azurite have been faithfully pseudomorphed by various colour shades of green velvety Malachite, with some unaltered areas of blue Azurite remaining. The original Azurite crystals have formed over a crystalline bed of dark lustrous olive-green Olivenite, shot through with fragments of Azurite which emit flashes of electric-blue. This is an outstanding pseudomorph from the Tsumeb mine in Namibia, in which the Malachite blades grade from deep leaf-green to bright emerald-green with a gorgeous silky texture. The glassy inky azure-blue Azurite forms as flattened crystals laying across the Malachite surfaces while remaining parallelly aligned to the pseudomorph's edges. A first-class specimen.
