Native Silver from Kongsberg really does not require much of an introduction such is its iconic status amongst collectors, being one of the most recognizable and desirable of specimens to own. The best pieces are not only large and eminently displayable, but exude character. This superb small cabinet-sized display specimen has the class of showing rich, thick twisted wires of Native Silver with the classic Calcite association but also, importantly, on matrix, presenting as it does the host rock linking it back to this famous deposit. The beautiful wires of Native Silver rise up, extending to 3.5 x 3 cm in extent as one aggregate splaying off in two directions. These wires have the fine old-time patina, or tarnish, so loved by collectors of these natural treasures, but what is even nicer is the way crystals of Calcite are held, suspended in mid-air by the silver wires. A simply gorgeous European classic. This specimen comes with a custom-made acryllic Sunnywood display stand.
