Beautiful blue bladed crystals of azurite across the top of matrix. This is in very good condition.Bisbee, Arizona, is one of the most famous historic copper mining districts in the United States, with major development beginning in the 1880s after rich copper deposits were discovered in the Mule Mountains. The Junction Mine was one of several underground operations developed in the district and was worked mainly for copper rich ore associated with the larger Copper Queen system. Like other Bisbee mines, the Junction Mine produced many attractive secondary minerals formed in the oxidized zones of the deposit. Specimens from the area include azurite, malachite, cuprite, and other copper minerals that are highly valued by mineral collectors.
