This is a lovely old-time specimen from one of the famous historic silver-mining districts in Europe. Not only is it silver ore, but it displays several small areas of nest-like wire Native Silver sat within cavities in the classic veinstone association of Acanthite, Galena, Sphalerite, Chalcopyrite and Dolomite. The largest area of Native Silver wires reaches 1 x 0.5 cm, but under magnification these look superb with their historic patina. Ex David Hardman Collection, no. 2288.
