This very dense miniature specimen is an important Allargentum from the famous 1980s discoveries at the Hartenstein uranium mine in Saxony. It specifically came from a depth of 1710 m which we believe was in the workings known as Shaft 371. Ex Simone and Peter Huber Collection, no. 1789, and recorded on their label as having been collected in 1984, this albeit small specimen is exceptionally rich. Upon it sharp, hackly, branches of the uncommon silver species Allargentum protrude upwards, having been etched from the white coloured country rock. Minor patches of bright pinkish metallic filigree Native Silver are seen around the base of the Allargentum dendrites and some intergrowth between Native Silver and Allargentum appears to exist also. The Allargentum also shows very angular forms, probably representing casts after the host rock, but perhaps also as pseudomorphs after Dyscrasite which is also mentioned on the original label. An extremely rare and high quality German Allargentum.
