The ArkenstoneFeatured
This fine antique acanthite specimen from Shaft 139 at Lauta, Saxony, Germany is comprised of numerous cubic crystals up to 7 mm. The crystals are dark gray-black, submetallic with many of the corners on the crystals modified by the octahedron, and each of the crystals range from well-formed to having a slightly "melted" look. The crystals are stacked vertically, almost in two-dimensions making an ornate grouping. The luster is good, and the varied forms are intriguing. A choice miniature from this historic silver mine in Saxony, Germany. From an old German collection being sold by Wendel Minerals, with Wolfgang Wendel's label (it takes a German to best authenticate and locate some of these old classics!).
