This is a significant and large, complex combination specimen from the Mammoth-Saint Anthony Mine with a variety of mineral species and textures! The highlight of this piece are the prominent, rather large, whitish to light blue bladed crystals of leadhillite accompanied by tiny (less than 0.5 mm), vibrant blue boleite crystals and tiny (less than 1 mm), sparkling, bright green paratacamite crystals that look fabulous with a loupe or under the microscope! The bladed leadhillite crystals are from 3 to 5 mm in size and they are intergrown with colorless to whitish, reticulated twinned, glassy cerussite evident on much of the display face. Granular, bright green paratacamite dominates the bottom of the piece and provides colorful contrast. This is probably a 80+ year old piece originating from mining on the Mammoth vein and the labels indicate that this was in Ed Over's collection (presumably collected by him in the spring of 1941 as he was well known for his field collecting at the time); and then went to Mitzi Schortmann (Ray's widow). She sold it to Phil Scalisi and then it passed to Mark Hay in 2011. Mark has a significant Arizona suite.
