This dense miniature specimen of silver ore from Moldava (Moldawa) in the Krušné Hory Mts (Erzgebirge), Ústí Region, Bohemia, Czechia comprises a dark grey sinter-like outer layer (with an orange coating in places) of Acanthite with coarser crystallized Proustite at its core. The Proustite is dark grey and metallic too, but under magnification many deep red internal reflections can be seen. The Proustite shows some evidence of crystal faces, but is mainly fractured surfaces, but examples from Moldava are extremely hard to come by. Ex Hans Engelbrecht Collection, no. 3913.
