France has some notable Fluorite occurrences but few come close to La Barre mine for its beautiful colour-zoned crystals. This lovely miniature specimen consists of fantastic yellow to blue colour-zoned glassy cubic crystals to 1.1 cm on edge intergrown in a slightly stepped arrangement. With backlighting the pale straw-yellow to yellow-green cores and striking electric blue edges so famed from La Barre mine shine through, and with many crystals at different angles the superb zoning can be viewed in many directions. There is only the very slightest of chipping to a few crystal edges, otherwise it is in extremely fine condition. An exquisite French Fluorite.
