When one thinks of Moroccan minerals Fluorite is generally not high on the list, but there have been some notable finds, in particular at El Hammam mine in Meknès-Tafilalet Region. This, the only Fluorite (fluorspar) mine in Morocco, has operated for many decades and has produced a wide range of colours of crystals. Ex Jesse Fisher Collection, this extremely fine small cabinet specimen presents the rarer deep sherry colour, but not only that it has an extremely glassy lustre and shows impressive internal colour zoning. The crystals are all very sharp and in superb condition with several distinctive clusters of brassy metallic Pyrite sat on top. A really top notch Moroccan Fluorite with crystals to 2.4 cm on edge.
